"HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!" my wife pounced as I walked through the door from mowing the lawn. "Motley Crue just announced 3 club shows on Sunset!! The Troubadour, The Roxy and the Whisky a Go Go!!!"
Well it was ON! ... OR so we thought, LOL.
Surrounded by our DIY "beer" garden watching the day pass into night we did a deep dive "waht should we do" battle plan for scoring the $19.81 tickets at each box office. This conversation would extend into the following days as we shared posted updates from Instagram and Reddit. We began to understand the reality of our chances given the limited capacity of each venue.
Despite the rock gods not favoring us this time, we are thrilled for those who scored tickets to see the Crue at "Home Sweet Home" on the Sunset Strip.
Hopefully, those reselling tickets, $2000 - $1000, will consider donating a portion of their profits from selling them on SeatGeek and VividSeats to https://covenanthousecalifornia.org.
Singer Vince Neil, drummer Tommy Lee, bassist Nikki Sixx - the inspiration for my painting, "Too Fast for Love," will host a charity dinner at the Rainbow on Oct. 8th.
Billboard's site noted, "As part of their return to the rooms where they made their bones in the 1980s, the Crüe announced a new philanthropic effort, the Mötley Crüe Giveback Initiative, which will have them partnering with several non-profits close to their hearts, including the teen homelessness organization Covenant House. An auction for two pair of tickets to the Troubadour show opened on Tuesday — click here to bid — and will be followed by another auction beginning on Sept. 30 featuring rare, stage-played collectible instruments from each of the three club shows."
